Founding Story
Raja Yoga Studio was founded in Fort Worth by Kevin Sapp and Dr. Kari Rollins, an osteopathic physician, yoga therapist, and deeply respected teacher.
From the beginning, they shared a vision of creating more than a yoga studio. They wanted to build a welcoming community where people could experience yoga as a complete practice, one that supports physical well-being, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth through movement, breath, meditation, and mindful living.

Meet Our Founder
Kevin Sapp
Founder and Teacher
Kevin Sapp founded Raja Yoga Studio with the belief that authentic yoga has the power to improve people's lives when it is taught with integrity, humility, and practical relevance.
His own journey into yoga began during a difficult period of life, when he was searching for something that could bring greater clarity, balance, and lasting well-being. What began as a personal practice gradually became a lifelong commitment to studying yoga philosophy, meditation, Kundalini Yoga, Kriya Yoga, and other contemplative traditions.
Kevin studied for years under the late Dr. Kari Rollins, whose mentorship helped shape both his personal practice and the vision for Raja Yoga Studio. Together, they built a community where authentic practice is valued over trends, personalities, or performance.
Before dedicating himself full-time to Raja Yoga, Kevin worked as a counselor and later spent many years in technology. Those experiences continue to influence the way he teaches. He approaches yoga with both curiosity and practicality, encouraging students to explore the practices through direct experience rather than unquestioning belief.
Kevin teaches yoga as more than physical exercise. He sees it as a lifelong practice of cultivating awareness, resilience, discipline, and a deeper relationship with oneself. His classes emphasize thoughtful inquiry, consistent practice, and creating a welcoming environment where students can explore these traditions without unnecessary dogma or pressure to adopt a particular worldview.
Today, Kevin continues the vision he shared with Dr. Rollins: preserving the depth of yoga while making its wisdom understandable, accessible, and relevant to the lives people are living today.

Joy Holmes
Yoga Teacher
Joy took her first yoga class in 2003 and hasn't stopped since. She is now certified in Hatha, Tantra, Ashtanga, Kriya, and Kundalini just to name a few. Joy considers herself a "cosmic yogi" who is Kundalini inspired and a Hatha Yoga master. You can see her expertise in action during her Gentle Hatha Yoga class on Wednesday afternoons.

Lisa O’Driscoll
Yoga Teacher
Lisa O’Driscoll’s yoga journey has shifted through different stages of her life, but it was her own healing experiences that ultimately led her to teach.
Lisa is an RYT-200 teacher with an additional 80 hours of training in restorative yoga and pranayama. Her classes offer a gentle, grounded space for students to reconnect with themselves through mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation. She is especially passionate about preparing the body for stillness and guiding students toward a sense of inner peace.
In her teaching, Lisa gravitates toward inversions as well as the deep rest of restorative poses. Restorative yoga is her favorite style to teach, though she also offers Ashtanga Vinyasa with Iyengar-inspired adjustments and enjoys guiding meditations and visualizations.
Off the mat, the Yamas and Niyamas shape Lisa’s day-to-day life through compassion, truthfulness, curiosity, and gratitude. She believes yoga is worth practicing because the wisdom learned on the mat becomes a toolkit for living with greater balance and presence.
Outside the studio, Lisa loves exploring nature with her husband and their dog—hiking, wild swimming, and adventuring—as well as deepening her movement practice through Pilates.
Her favorite reminder:
“It will be ok in the end, and if it’s not ok, it’s not the end.”

George Robinson
Yoga Teacher
George began to develop an interest in Yoga-Vedanta as a teenager, which has only deepened over the years. During his freshman year of college, he had the unique opportunity to attend campus-held Kundalini Yoga classes and took immediate notice of their efficacy. That same semester, he couldn't stop noticing Paramahansa Yogananda's classic work, Autobiography of a Yogi, on display at the campus bookstore and decided to read it. Both these experiences changed his life forever, which has really come into full-force over these past few years after moving to Fort Worth and discovering the Raja Yoga community . George has found Sadhana to be key to spiritual fulfillment and acknowledges how considerably the practice of Kundalini Yoga has helped him personally to quell depression and anxiety, maintain sobriety, and generally have a positive outlook on life. Additionally, George completed his Ayurveda Counselor 1600 hour training in 2020 and is always happy to share cooking tips and suggestions for maintaining a balanced lifestyle. In summer 2025, he joined the first Board of Directors for the new Raja Yoga Community Center.

Sandy Schultz
Yoga Teacher
After many years in the corporate world sitting hunched over behind a computer, Sandy started experiencing neck and back issues, which resulted in her seeing countless doctors who gave her prescriptions, physical therapy and even suggested neck surgery. She finally said, "Enough," and took matters into her own hands. Sandy started taking yoga classes and noticed how much stronger her core and back became. She fell in love with yoga and wanted more, which led her to Yoga Teacher Training, achieving her 200-Hour RYS, 300-Hour RYT, and 200-Hour RYS in Kundalini Yoga. While training, sound baths were part of her classes, helping her in many ways as a Type A personality, teaching her how to slow down and breathe. She sensed the sound waves healing her stressed body and calming her monkey mind and felt it should be part of everyone's personal maintenance. Our bodies are mostly water, and the sounds from the gongs, crystal bowls, and other instruments help to relax, release, and ground us. This all led Sandy to a Sound Healing course she could add to her toolbox. Her goal is to help as many people as possible, whether through sound, yoga, meditation, or all of the above. It is a calling that speaks to her soul.

Daniel Katsük
Yoga Teacher
Bringing a joyful reverence for a science that is ancient and powerful, Daniel Katsük understands fully that to be truly flexible, laughter wins. Having performed as a musician on stage for over 20 years and a voice-actor for cartoons, Daniel brings a fun and inviting energy to Kundalini Yoga that can help anyone feel comfortable in their own skin or Yoga pants. We are all growing together, and as a budding teacher, Daniel brings a child-like creativity to helping facilitate a deeper connection with our bodies, mind and Spirit.

Apryl Lewis
Yoga teacher
Apryl discovered Kundalini Yoga and Meditation after a years-long struggle with her mental health throughout her teens and early twenties. After hitting a dead end with the temporary fixes and growing list of medications that western medicine had to offer, she decided to try something different. She found Kundalini Yoga through free online classes and began a daily practice that became her lifeline. Through this commitment, Apryl gradually unraveled the limiting beliefs and self-defeating patterns that had held her back for so long. It gave her the strength, clarity, and vitality to build a beautiful new life for herself.
When she found Raja Yoga, she was overjoyed to join a supportive community and she quickly found a new home there. In the winter of 2024, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training and began teaching a weekly class—a natural extension of her ongoing healing journey.
Apryl teaches from the heart, with deep compassion and lived experience. Her intention is to offer hope to those who feel hopeless and to empower students to rediscover the wisdom within their own bodies. She believes we all have the power to become our own healer—and feels honored to support others in remembering that truth. Outside of practicing and teaching kundalini yoga, Apryl spends her time running, hiking, lifting weights, traveling and seeking new ways to further her growth and connection with herself and her loved ones.
