Our Philosophy
Yoga is more than a system of physical exercise. At its heart, it is a tradition that invites us to cultivate greater awareness of ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.
Many classical yoga teachings describe life as fundamentally interconnected. From this perspective, our thoughts, words, and actions influence not only our own well-being but also the communities and world we help create. Whether understood spiritually, philosophically, or simply as a way of living with greater mindfulness, this perspective encourages compassion, personal responsibility, and care for others.
At Raja Yoga, we welcome people of every background and belief system. Our intention is not to ask students to adopt a particular philosophy, but to offer practices that encourage self-awareness, thoughtful inquiry, and direct experience. We believe yoga is most meaningful when each person discovers its value for themselves.
One traditional Sanskrit mantra beautifully expresses the spirit that guides our community:
Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu
RYCC and Raja Yoga Studio Relationship
Raja Yoga Studio and Raja Yoga Community Center (RYCC) work alongside one another with a shared purpose: to make authentic yoga and meditation practices more accessible, welcoming, and rooted in service.
Raja Yoga Studio remains the primary public-facing studio brand for classes, memberships, teachers, and day-to-day practice.
RYCC should remain clearly identified as a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for donations, scholarship support, outreach, and community access programming.
